Andrew Tucker Leavis
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
The founder of the New Nottingham Journal, Andrew is a writer and editor who has worked with the Radio Times, Litro, Under the Radar and more. He co-edits LeftLion magazine’s literature section.
He is a Lille Indépendance poetry prize winner, and recently finished a virtual residency with Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature. -

Martin Fitzgerald
MANAGING EDITOR
Martin is a writer from South East London, the founder of the popular online blog Ruth and Martin's Album Club and author of the book of the same name.
His first screenplay Campbeltown '69, co-written with the director Daniel Fitzsimmons, begins filming in 2025 and is due to be released in 2026. His new book, The Umbrella Man and Other Stories, will be released in Spring 2026. -

George Newton
ASSOCIATE EDITOR
George has worked on a number of literature anthologies and journals, including the Oxford Anthology of Translation and Asymptote.
Proficient in seven languages, he has most recently worked for the European Investment Bank as a translator. -

Kibrina Davey
EVENTS COORDINATOR
Kibrina Davey is Events Manager at Waterstones Nottingham, and an early modern literature scholar.Kibrina teaches as an Associate Lecturer in English at Sheffield Hallam University and has published research on Renaissance drama, revenge tragedy and the history of emotions.

Hannah Cox
MARKETING & PR ASSOCIATE
Hannah is a First-Class English graduate from the University of Nottingham, with interests in modernist literature, film and contemporary culture.
She has previously worked as Marketing Associate for The Letters Page, the University of Nottingham’s literary journal, and as a research assistant at the university. -

Hongwei Bao
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Hongwei Bao is a British-Chinese writer and academic, Associate Professor in Media Studies at the University of Nottingham and a leading scholar of queer Chinese history and culture.
His research focuses on gender, sexuality, media and visual culture in transnational China and the Asian diaspora, and he co-directs the Centre for Critical Theory and Cultural Studies. He is the author of four monographs on queer China, and of the poetry collection The Passion of the Rabbit God. -
Jared Wilson
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Jared Wilson is Director and Editor-in-Chief of LeftLion, Nottingham’s independent arts and culture magazine, which he co-founded in 2003.
He has written about culture for The Guardian, The Big Issue, NME, The Times, The Independent and more.Jared also runs the production company LeftLion Extended and co-hosts cultural events and podcasts, championing Nottingham’s creative community.

Hannah Trevarthen
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Hannah Trevarthen is Director of Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature and UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature Network Lead, overseeing programmes that connect readers and writers around the world.
She previously worked at English PEN as Events and Partnerships Manager and Interim Director, producing festivals, campaigns and international literary projects. In 2020 she was named a Rising Start in The Bookseller for her contribution to the UK literary sector. -

Rory Waterman
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Rory Waterman is a poet, critic and editor, based in Nottingham. He has released four collections published by Carcanet, alongside several books of literary criticism, and his work has appeared in The Guardian, The Times Literary Supplement (TLS), Poetry Review, and many more.
Rory is Professor of Creative Writing and Modern Literature at Nottingham Trent University, where he teaches on English and Creative Writing and leads the MA in Creative Writing. -

Amy Acre-Hall

Amy is a poet and the founding editor of award-winning indie publisher Bad Betty Press.
Her debut collection Mothersong (Bloomsbury, 2023) was shortlisted for the John Pollard Foundation International Poetry Prize and named a Book of the Year by The Telegraph, the Financial Times and the California Review of Books.She is also the author of pamphlets And They Are Covered in Gold Light and Where We’re Going, We Don’t Need Roads, both Poetry Book Society Pamphlet Choices, and her poem ‘every girl knows’ won the 2019 Verve Poetry Prize.

Jim Leaviss
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Jim Leaviss is the former Chief Investment Officer for Public Fixed Income at M&G, where he spent 27 years and oversaw its bond division.He joined M&G in 1997 from the Bank of England, where he was a gilt market analyst and dealer, and founded the firm’s influential Bond Vigilantes blog.
In 2024 Jim left M&G and the investment industry to pursue academic interests, including an MA in the history of art. -

Matthew Welton

Matthew Welton is a poet and Associate Professor in Creative Writing at the University of Nottingham, and the author of four Carcanet collections: The Book of Matthew, We needed coffee but…, The Number Poems and Squid Squad.His work has been recognised with an Eric Gregory Award, the Jerwood–Aldeburgh First Collection Prize for The Book of Matthew, and second place in the Arvon International Poetry Competition.

Becky Cullen
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Becky Cullen is a poet, educator and researcher, and Director of NTU Arts’ Writing, Reading and Pleasure (WRAP) programme at Nottingham Trent University.
Becky’s debut pamphlet Majid Sits in a Tree and Sings won the 2017/18 Poetry Business International Book & Pamphlet Competition, and her first full collection A Reader’s Guide to Time was the winner of the 2021 Live Canon Collection Competition. -

Robert Weston
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
Robert Paul Weston is a novelist and poet, and Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Lincoln. He is the author of award-winning children’s and YA books including the verse novel Zorgamazoo, Dust City, The Creature Department, and the picture books Sakura's Cherry Blossoms and Natsumi's Song of Summer.
Robert’s work has won the California Young Reader Medal and the Silver Birch Award, and has been shortlisted for honours including the Edgar Allan Poe Award and the Sunburst Award.
